Marvel
Studios president Kevin Feige will team with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy to
produce a new Star Wars film. Feige pitched a film idea in a summer meeting with
Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman. Feige getting
involved has started the rumor mill that he wants to take over Kennedy’ job but
that’s not the case. Feige has discussed his film idea with a major actor and
offered him a part on the planned film. With the release of Star Wars: The Rise
of Skywalker Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac are all done with the
franchise. But in an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Kennedy told them
that they will not abandon the characters created in the recent trilogy but may
be done with making trilogies all together after Rian Johnson finishes his
upcoming mystery trilogy. Kennedy has a great deal of confidence in the
Mandalorian’s Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, along with producer Michelle Rejwan
and they are expected to play a major part in figuring out what the next Star
Wars film is going to be since we already have a release date of December 2022,
which will have it’s director announced this month.
