This
past SummerSlam weekend Jimmy Uso spent at home instead of appearing at WWE fan
events because he can’t enter Canada. He was recently arrested for a DUI and an
unlawful speeding citation. After posting a $1,000 bond he was released from
jail. According to the police report an off-duty officer advised an Escambia
County Sheriff’s Office deputy about a car going more than 100 mph on Interstate
10, drifting from left to right. The car pulled into a bar but by the time the
deputy arrived, it was gone but the deputy later saw the vehicle turn onto
Highway 297A, rapidly accelerating (going 86 mph in a 45 mph) and coming close
to hitting another car. When the deputy pulled Fatu over, he observed that Fatu
had issues holding his license, registration, and proof of insurance. He had
bloodshot and watery eyes, droopy eyelids, dilated pupils, and his speech was
slow with him slurring his words. The deputy reported that he could smell an
alcoholic beverage from the driver side window and asked Fatu several times to
step out of the car. When he did he had a hard time standing up so the deputy
asked him to ride with him to a flat parking lot to do a field sobriety test.
Fatu agreed but then couldn’t figure out what was going on and started asking
questions. He took out his phone and tried to put it toward the deputy's face.
The deputy decided to arrest him for DUI and refused multiple times before
getting into the squad car. Jimmy then wanted to speak with another deputy. The
arresting officer reported that he had to roll down his back windows due to the
overwhelming smell of alcohol in the car. The WWE released this statement:
"Jonathan Fatu is responsible for his own personal actions." Jimmy, however,
wasn’t the only WWE talent to be arrested. Jeff Hardy was arrested recently in
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for public intoxication and impairment.
