 The
Invaders came to be during World War II. Namor, Captain America, the original
Human Torch (Jim Hammond) and Bucky (Winter Soldier) banded together to fight
Nazis. This week Chip Zdarsky, Carlos Magno and Butch Guice have reformed the
team but the villain they fight this time is one of their own. Captain America,
Jim Hammond, and the Winter Soldier will face off against Namor, who has
declared Earth's seas off limits to the surface world and will use any means
possible to enforce that. Namor will not actually be a villain but someone who
needs to protect Atlantis and the oceans. His perspective is valid but the rest
of the world doesn’t see it that way. Cap thinks that someone is pushing Namor
into his position so he wants to save him. Jim Hammond, when the series starts
is living the quiet life but gets back into action to save his friend who he has
a lot in common with. Both men are between worlds; human but not human. Bucky
with his past fully understands Namor and will be the one investigating just
what Namor is planning. The series will be told from two angles with Magno
drawing the present day stuff and Guice doing the World War II flashbacks.
