 Scott
Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Dark Nights: Metal is over and the affects on the
event set up the weekly Justice League: No Justice limited series and his
bi-weekly Justice League title. Snyder used Metal to break the DCU out of its
comfort zone and approached DC VP Dan DiDio with the idea of breaking the Source
Wall. When he told him this he had no idea what was on the other side but knew
he would come up with something over the course of the year he took to write the
story. In doing so it meant there were new sectors for the Green Lanterns to
explore and protect, created new rules of physics for magic and expanded the
boundaries of the DCU. As the post Metal world is examined we will learn just
what made the Source Wall and show the things behind it come to Earth. The new
Justice League teams that form as have been revealed will have in them team
members you do not expect, specifically Beast Boy as a member of Team Entropy.
Snyder says there is a reason for it and it has to do with the fact that Beast
Boy’s connected to the Red Energy but has always limited himself. In his Justice
League book we will see a connection with Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl and John
Stewart. We will see Kendra learn that her origin wasn’t what she thought it
was, John will learn that the Guardians have hidden things from him and the
Manhunter will realize that his belief on why Mars died was totally wrong. The
first two arcs of the book will delve into all of that and connect them in a way
we never considered. Justice League: No Justice will set up Snyder's Justice
League, James Tynion's Justice League Dark, Joshua Williamson's Justice League
Odyssey, Dan Abnett's Titans, and Adam Glass's Teen Titans. Those teams are
nicknamed Team Mystery, Team Entropy, Team Wonder, and Team Wisdom. But
according to Snyder there is also an Earth squad led by Amanda Waller and
Nightwing. The post Metal world will also launch a new Hawkman series. |
