The Return of Wildstorm

DC Comics Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio know what the future of the company is because they run it. The biggest news from DC as of late is the revival of the WildStorm brand under the stewardship of Warren Ellis. The first title from the imprint is The Wild Storm that Ellis will write with art by Jon Davis-Hunt. Ellis has already turned in the first six scripts of the series and the outlines for the other titles involved in the relaunch. The other titles are WildCATS, Michael Cray and Zealot. The imprint will be a separate entity to what is going on with the characters in the DCU proper. It’s another of what they call a pop-up imprint like Hanna-Barbera and Young Animal. In the Rebirth world the first crossover event of the new DCU will be Justice League vs. Suicide Squad and that will result in a new Justice League of America book. Fans will also get a summer 2017 DC event by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. The events of Rebirth will also lead into a confrontation with the characters of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’s Watchmen a year from now.
