It
been an interesting few weeks for NXT’s Jordan Myles.
First he openly complained on social media about his first t-shirt and posted it
online before removing it. All I know about the shirt is that he said it was
racist and posted in Twitter, "WWE hates black people". Myles in an e-mail
stated that Vince McMahon, HHH and a WWE creative services employee were racist
for coming up with it. But according to the WWE, Myles approved the shirt
because all t-shirts are sent to talent before being mass produced. Having not
seen the shirt I can still imagine that it was a black t-shirt (most NXT shirts
are black) with his face on it. And if he had a problem with the shirt he could
have just told WWE he didn’t like it and they would have come up with something
else. Myles also posted on Twitter that Ring of Honor star Jay Lethal was an
Uncle Tom and that he had experienced racism while he was there. Those tweets
were later taken down. Myles continued to dig himself into a hole by claiming
that yes, he did approve the shirt but only saw it on a white background and
that when put against a black background, "you can see the racist intentions".
Now in all the years that I have been buying NXT shirts they are either black or
grey, seldom or never white. Myles signed with WWE in February and won the NXT
Breakout tournament in August which led to a match against Adam Cole for the NXT
title on September 4. Myles posted on social media that he is no longer working
for NXT and is going back to using the name ACH because Jordan Myles was his
slave name. WWE has released him from his contract.
