Disney Streaming is Almost Here and Star Wars is Taking Point for the Premiere

Thor’s Taika Waititi is directing an episode of the upcoming live-action Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian and doing the voice of a droid bounty hunter named IG-11. The TV show will debut on 11/12 on Disney+ and run weekly. The show will be set five years after the fall of the Empire. A second season has already been ordered…American Gods’ Deborah Chow has been hired to direct the entire run of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series for Disney+ and Lucasfilm. The four-hour series will take place eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and star Ewan McGregor and Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen…Rogue One’s Tony Gilroy has apparently saved the Star Wars related Cassian Andor series at Disney+ and will write the pilot for the series in addition to directing multiple episodes. The series will focus on Rebel agent Andor (Diego Luna) before the events of Rogue One. Alan Tudyk is set to reprise his role as K-2SO. The project was about to be abandoned before Gilroy came in and re-worked the series. The show will debut in 2021.
