 In
the 1980s some naïve parents thought that kids playing Dungeons & Dragons would
make their kids do bad things as part if the game. Kieron Gillen and Stephanie
Hans will delve into players actually being drawn into a fantasy realm in the
Image comic Die. The title will revolve around a group of kids who ended up
being transported into the game they were playing. They all made it out but
barely. Now as they are in their 40’s they have to go back into where they
barely made it out of. Gilllen and Hans had worked together off and on but not
for longer than a few issues here and there but this was something she cleared
her schedule for. Gillen says the book will introduce the cast of six
individuals as teenagers in 1991 then reintroduce them all as older in 2018
while showing how all six have changed. And yes, when the first trade is
released we will get a game module tie-in. So people will be able to buy the
trade, download a PDF and have their own Die experience.
