Michael Bendis has a new imprint at DC and its called Wonder Comics. His Pearl
limited series with Michael Gaydos has become an ongoing so his plate is pretty
full. He and Patrick Gleason will launch Wonder Comics with a new Young Justice
ongoing that will team up Amethyst of Gemworld, Jenny Hex (a descendant of Jonah
Hex), Teen Lantern (a hacker), Naomi (a new character) Impulse (Bart Allen),
Superboy (Conner Kent) and Robin (Tim Drake). He wanted Static Shock on the team
but he was removed from consideration since Milestone already had a series
planned for him in the future. Bendis, David Walker and Jamal Campbell will work
on a solo title starring Naomi, who is a black teen who was adopted and grew up
in an all-white town. The two other titles from the line are The Wonder Twins
(Mark Russel and Stephen Byrne) and Dial H for HERO (Sam Humphries and Joe
Quinones) Dial H will not star Robbie Reed but a kid named Miguel. The series
will tell us the fate of former dial owner Robbie Reed. The books will be in
continuity. Bendis revealed to fans at the NYCC that Superman is setting up the
foundation for the Legion of Super Heroes and the United Planets of the 31st
century. |
