Williamson’s Flash War arc ended with extra tension between Barry Allen and
Wally West. Wally, and not Barry, is now the fastest man alive. Some are looking
for the book to regain a lighter tone but Williamson says that is not going to
be happening anytime soon. He used the arc to keep the debate going over who was
the fastest Flash alive and play with fans over Wally West’s status in the DCU.
DC when asked when or if Wally was coming back or not at conventions would
refuse to answer the question. Williamson knew that aside from a year in which
Barry and Wally coexisted after Crisis On Infinite Earths but hadn’t done so
since then. He knew there was a lot of tension between them for multiple reasons
but one was that Barry had established a life but Wally hadn’t since Rebirth.
Wally wanted to live a life filled with fun and now he isn’t able to do that
anymore. |
