DIGGLE ENJOYS THE SHADOWS Posted: 022518
On 3/28 Green Arrow’s Andy Diggle will join the ranks of Valiant Entertainment writer to do an ongoing Shadowman series with Stephen Segovia. Diggle decided to work for Valiant once he had a gap in his schedule to work on the book. He and Valiant Editor-in-Chief Warren Simons had been looking for the right project for a few years and when he was offered the chance to bring back Shadowman he took it. Matt Kindt’s Rapture limited series actually sets up the new ongoing that will take readers deep into the mythology of the character and the world he lives in. The series will do away with the clichés used about voodoo and explain why the loa that inhabits Jack Boniface does so. As Boniface learns to understand the loa and its world he will gain new abilities. Diggle’s plan is to tell stories in short arcs that do build into an overarching story. He has two years worth of stories planned out and Master Darque does have a presence in the series but will not be over used. That’s not the case with Baron Samedi, who Diggle feels has been under-used. And since every arc will have a different mood or tone each one will get a different artist. Segovia gets to set everything up in the first arc and may return for another arc. SHADOWMAN #1 ships with two standard covers and is currently scheduled to ship on Wednesday March 28, 2018 and will be 25% off on the 28th and 15% off for the rest of the week until April 3rd (while supplies last).
