Club’s David Fincher did a number of interviews about his Netflix series
Mindhunter and he covered a lot of ground. He told reporters: he passed on doing
a Star Wars because it would have been too much pressure…he and Brad Pitt are
working on a sequel to World War Z even though he hates sequels…on his two
aborted HBO projects Video Synchronicity and his remake of the British series
Utopia he says he was all ready to direct the entire first season of Utopia then
HBO cut the budget. Synchronicity just didn’t work out…he thinks the problem
with modern movies is due to formulaic filmmaking and a need for quick pacing
which guts the film of character development scenes. |
