 Shelly Bond’s Black Crown imprint at IDW has added its second
title a six-issue limited series from Magdalena’s Tini Howard and Love and
Rockets’ Gilbert Hernandez’s Assassinistas. Octavia, the lead character of the
series is a retired hit woman who will team with two former associates to rescue
a kidnapped child and make some money to pay for her son’s college tuition along
the way. Hernandez has worked for Bond before so when she came to him with the
script he jumped onto the project. Howard’s script includes flashbacks to the
trio’s early day and involves of all things roller disco. It also shows the
contrast between the three women who have all gone on different paths. There are
no dates on the two different timelines it’s just now and then. The limited
series will debut in December. |
