Former Vertigo Editor Shelly Bond’s IDW Black Crown imprint first title will be Kid Lobotomy from Peter Milligan and Tess Fowler. The series is set in a strange hotel known as The Suites that is run by a dysfunctional family. The title character is a young man given the job of running the hotel. He has had multiple brain surgeries and a history of drug abuse. Milligan will use the title to set the tone of the imprint and he says the book is going to be weird and involve a lot of self-discovery. Kid was inspired by young Mick Jagger and the Suites are inspired by various Hollywood hotels as well as some in the UK. At the start of the series Kid isn’t running the hotel at all but after a few weird things happen he will take the job to try to make sense of his insane life. The supporting cast will include Kid’s sister Rosebud.
