Roy Nelson got angry about a late stoppage in his fight with
Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and was going to get a long suspension and a huge fine.
Hr dropped Silva in the second round and kept hitting Silva until referee “Big”
John McCarthy stopped the fight. Since Nelson and Silva are friends Nelson
kicked or pushed McCarthy in the ass because he was angry. He then made it worse
when he cursed him out and gave him the finger. After the fight he told
reporters, “I didn’t want to hurt Bigfoot more than what I had to. I got taken
from the moment. I apologized to Big John, but I wouldn’t take it back. It just
hurt me that I’ve got to keep on hitting a guy that doesn’t need to be hit. The
referee just did a late stoppage.” UFC president Dana White wasn’t having any of
that, “You can’t apologize for that. You don’t ever, ever put your (expletive)
hands on a referee or your feet for any reason what-so-(expletive)-ever. You
don’t do it. He needs to be buried.” The Brazilian Athletic Commission could
have given him a 25-month suspension and $40,000 fine for his actions but
instead gave Nelson a six-month suspension and a fine of $13,700 after he said
he was sorry to McCarthy. |
