 There
is a major controversy going on between Dynamite, Paul Cornell and artist Jimmy
Broxton. A cover by Broxton recently came out that caused major concern since it
came off as highly transphobic. Paul Cornell and Dynamite Entertainment told the
press that the cover would be pulled and that they will make payments to
trans-related charities in recompense. Jimmy Broxton, however, isn’t making any
excuses for his cover and says he could care less about the controversy. Cornell
on his Twitter account says not only will he find another artist for the series
but he will never work with Broxton again. This isn’t the first writer Broxton
has had issues with since he and Alex De Campi’s Ashes comic fell apart due to
creative differences that had De Campi find other artists. Broxton was known as
James Hodgkins, a successful comic book inker who couldn’t get writing jobs or
full penciling jobs so he created the Jimmy Broxton pseudonym to get full art
jobs. |
