Chris Evans will star in Ruben Fleischer’s Jekyll, the feature film remake of Steven Moffat’s 2007 BBC One mini-series…Minority Report’s Meagan Good will star as Foxy Brown in Hulu’s TV version of the Pam Grier film…Veronica Mars’ Rob Thomas will adapt The Lost Boys into a TV series for the CW…Jon Favreau will direct a remake of The Lion King. He will do it after he does the sequel to The Jungle Book…John Carpenter has nothing to do with the planned remake of Big Trouble in Little China but Dwayne Johnson has said he wants Carpenter involved…the Amazon TV series based on The Departed isn’t a remake. It’s actually a continuation of the events of the film but will be based in Chicago…TNT is going to make a TV series out of the science fiction film Snowpiercer…Paul Verhoeven says the remake of Starship Troopers doesn’t involve him at all. He also says the reason the film was so subversive was because Sony kept changing leadership so they had no idea what he was doing…Robert Heinlein’s 1961 sci-fi novel Stranger in a Strange Land will be a TV series for Syfy…R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe at one point was going to play serial killer John Doe in David Fincher’s Se7en but shooting took place at the same time the band was about to go on tour.
